The White Album Concert tour has officially started. The responses from audiences to the show have been amazing.
If you have the time please take a moment to share your thoughts on the concert. It will be a great help to those people who are still trying to work out whether or not they should buy tickets.
What a great concert and Chris Cheney was awesome
Thanks for your email Kathleen. You can see the concert again. There will be a final concert for the tour at the State Theatre in Sydney this Friday August 14. Bookings through ticketmaster.com.au
I saw the show at the Opera House and it was SENSATIONAL! Do not miss it if you get the chance to go. All the guys were brilliant – it was honestly mind blowing!
The show was AMAZING!!! Each artist brought something special; Tim’s performance, Josh’s voice, Phil’s quirkiness and Chris’s guitar made for an incredible show.
Fantastic performance last night (Sunday, Opera House) by all involved. I too felt Chris Cheney to be the standout – however Tim, Phil and Josh were nothing short of mind blowing too. Absolutey loved Tim’s antics. I believe the band were brilliant and really should be listed alongside the four singers I believe as the 4 singers involved them regularly throughout the performance.
I should mention that the two guys seated next to my sister and I had just 3 hours prior to the show flown in from Washington DC, were suffering jetlag big tme and mentioned that “as tourists they didnt want to just walk around the outside of the Opera House but wanted to hear what it was like on the inside too”. They had absolutely no idea who any of the singers or musicians were and they too were completely blown away by the concert and loved every single second of it.
Would love to see the show again at the State Theatre on Friday.
A huge pat on the back and well done to everyone involved, even the roadie who was a little busy last night…
Was an incredible night – everyone involved deserves a huge round of applause.
Chris Cheney’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” – flawless, Phil Jamieson’s “I Will” – beautiful, Tim Rogers “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” – entertaining and Josh Pyke’s “Blackbird” – stunning.
Whoever hasn’t gone already, I recommend running out and buying a ticket to this amazing performance – you will definetely not regret it!
Show the show last night and it was brilliant – or should I say FAB. Chris Cheney was a stand-out in an excellent show.
Everything about the show was fantastic. I knew Chris Cheney had talent but he really blew me away with While My Guitar Gently Weeps. All the lead performers were great, as was the band. The whole experience was wonderful. I am going again on the 14th to the State Theatre. I enjoyed it that much.
What an amazing concert.
Just got home from the adelaide one and am buzzing.
Only bad thing was how quick it went! I could easily have watched another 2 hours.
Just blew me away.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
no seriously, even when Tim Rogers accidentally hit some poor gran in the front row (which he was charmingly apologetic about afterwards)
Really well put together, a wonderful band (special props to the guitarists and back up singers) and of course the four guys who were just brilliant
Live CD would be great…. an Abbey Road Concert or a Sgt. Pepper’s Concert would be even better
Awesome – saw this concert in Adelaide last night – I have loved the Beatles since I was 12 and really wanted to see this concert. Had a few emotional moments. Loved the whole backing band, and of course the new “fantastic four ” – Tim, Chris, Josh and Phil, whose individual music of the last few years has also moved and inspired me – I’m still rockin’ at 57 and will never leave my teens!
Wow, what a fantastic, amazing, wonderful night at the Sydney Opera House. Loved the four artists, each one different yet brilliant. The back up artists were also amazing. I would have gone again the next night if there had been any seats left and so would my two friends and husband. Suprisingly there weren’t many old fogies there like us (in our late 50’s), the majority of the audience were below 30 which I thought was great. The concert was definitely one of the highlights of the year for me. Please consider “Abbey Road”.
We saw the concert last night and it was awesome!!!! Lets hope they do it again. We would go for sure. All were brilliant and what a party atmosphere. Right by the speakers and I still cant hear properly! Please do it again!!!
Went last night to the Adelaide Concert and went away with a huge smile on my face what a wonderful night of entertainment. It was done so well just the right mix of talent and theater (Tim and Phil!!!!:)). The whole mix was perfect the right artists doing the right song with smiles on their faces. The audience of mixed ages and backgrounds seem to have a fantastic time what more can you ask>>>>possibly a CD and DVD of one of the concerts hint hint!!!!!!
Thia was the coolest concert i highly recommend it to all ages. Even though i was nearly at the back it was still a heaps good view! I f i could see it again I would.
ONE WORD:
AMAZING!!!!
I really hope they make a DVD/CD for this concert!
I saw the concert in Adelaide last night and I was absolutely blown away. The Beatles are undoubtedly the beast band EVER and the guys really did all their songs justice. Blackbird had to be my highlight; my favourite song of all time and josh pyke sung it beautifully. Also loved Dear Prudence, and Chris Cheney doing While My Guitar Gently Weeps was nothing short of amazing. For anyone who, for some unknown reason, is not sure yet about going; GET TICKETS NOW! Truly, thanks guys for an amazing concert (:
I went to the Adelaide concert last night and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! A fantastic show!
Blackbird my favourite!
What I want to know is when will the CD be avaliable??
Come on guys…..plllllleeeeeaaaaaasssseeeee
Just got home from seeing the Perth gig – this was awesome!!! I’ve seen many great gigs and this was up there with the best – second only to Jeff Buckley at Belvoir Amphitheatre in Feb 1996. I have loved the White Album album long time and have had it on high rotation ever since I heard about the tour back in May.
Boys, I’ve loved your work individually for years but collectively you have outdone yourselves! My friend and i are desperately hoping you’ll consider doing Revolver/Magical Mystery Tour and Abbey Road/Let It Be tours v v soon!
Thank you so much for performing this brilliant collection of music so beautifully and so faithfully…..
Wow! Went last evening to the Perth show (thanks for coming west, not everyone does), and it was GOOD. Very good indeed. A great event that celebrated the music of The Beatles – not just a dumb tribute band, so well done.
My only disapointment was that they didn’t end the encore with ‘Hey Jude’ as that would have got the entire audience leaving the theatre singing as they left!
Opera House Saturday night.
As a lifelong Beatle fan(atic) of 47 years of age ,I never go near Beatles tribute bands , but I was hopeful this would be the goods and I wasn’t disappointed.
Staying true to the original , the boys and the band pulled off the brilliance and variety that is the White Album .
Just superb. Taking my kids Friday night at the State Theatre.
Yes Perth concert was awesome, my 11 year old son was invited up on stage by Tim Rogers and the guys, it was amazingfor him & Josh Pyke made a fuss over him as he had a Josh Pyke T-shirt on-he’s a big fan!
but unfortunately we didn’t have a camera with us-
did anyone get apic they can send me? sandra.murray@fremantleprison.com.au
Thanks heaps
I went to the Perth concert last night and loved every second of it. I hope they tour again so that I can experience it all once more. Australia really is the Lucky Country to have four such talented performers. It was better than the Beatles!
Went to the Perth concert last night – awesome. The White Album has stood the test of time and it was amazing to see it performed so brilliantly. Too many highlights to list – loved the encore where all the guys were together, looked like they were enjoying it as much as us.
If there was a second show we would go again!!!
Congratulations to all who put it together.
Wow – i mean WOWWWWW!!! What an amazing, inspired FANTASTIC show i was glued from start to finish and only dissapointed becuase suddenly it was over!!
Chris – AMAZING i knew he was a fantastic musician and have loved his work for ever but WOW !!!!!
Phil – i love this man dearly he is such an amazing performer and added so many funny moments and vocals were SPECTACULAR!!
Josh Pyke has just totally won me over i was never a fan but now especially after hearing “blackbird” which i have loved since i was a small child made me teary what a voice!!!!!!!!!!!
Tim Rogers what a theatrical diva loved him and great performance!
This concert was the on of the best things i have seen in my many MANY years of live music going i will never forget it!! What a fantastic tribute Tto THE BEATLES and once in a lifetime experience THANKYOU!!!!! =)
Oh and please please PLEASE release a DVD !!!
Wow! What a night. Thank you all for such an amazing musical experience. Ridiculously exceeded any expectations. The songs suited each of the musicians to a tee, although would have loved to hear Tim’s version of Rocky Racoon.
Chris Cheney was amazing – My Guitar Gently weeps was a definite highlight for me.
Phil and Tim brought such personality and talent to the stage that every song they sang was a wonderfully told story.
Josh Pyke’s music style suited the songs he sang, and his voice was stunning.
Thank you so much to the organisers for the vision of this concert.
To be blown away like that is a wonderful feeling and it’s a night we’ll be speaking of for years!
The show was fantastic, my mate and I were stunned! Amazing quality music, the performance and the guys did every song awesome justice!
Saw the Tuesday night concert at the Burswood Theatre and might I say… Simply amazing. Everyone sounded fantastic. You guys really did the White Album justice. Would definitely see the show again if given the opportunity. Hoping to see a CD/DVD release of one of the shows on the tour.
I attended Sunday nights concert @ the Sydney Opera House. What a fantasic show and incredible line-up. Tim was a true showman and I really enjoyed seeing a different side to Phil too (jazz voice). Josh melted my heart and I was really surprised by Chris (in a good way). Loved it. I would really love to see the four again … what’s next? cheers
Burswood concert was brilliant. Towards the end my 11 year old son was invited up on stage by Tim Rogers and the guys, it was wonderful for him & he’s a guitarist in a band himself! unfortunately we didn’t have a camera with us-if anyone took a pic with him in it can you send to me please? sandra.murray@dhw.wa.gov.au
Thanks
Sandy
went 2 perth on tuesday the concert was awesome, my partner is the beatles freak but these guys won me over, the smile on my partners face is still there, he laughed, he cried, it ment the world to him to see this album performed.WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE THANKS TO ALL
Drove from Canberra to last Opera House show – Thought I’d seen some pretty fantastic live shows but this was my stand out. Finished way too soon!! All artists and the band were sensational. Thanks for a truly wonderful & memorable night!
Simply outsanding way to spend a Tuesday evening in Perth~!~
(And I was lucky enough to be in the front row! *woot*)
Any and all expectations I may have had were well & truly blown away, thank you everyone for such an AMAZING evening. *swoon*
Will be first in line to purchase a CD (& DVD….PLLLLEEEASSSSEE!) should they be released in my lifetime
Thanks again to all performers & crew for SUCH an awesome night~!~
What an incredible concert. Whoever thought of putting these 4 amazing and talented musicians together is a genius ! My main reason for going to this concert was Chris Cheney, as I am a long-time fan of The Living End. My husband is a Beatles fan and introduced me to his love of The White Album. After going to The White Noise Tour Concert, he’s become a Living End convert too. However, we were blown away by all four musicians. There were the obvious highlights for each one, which have been mentioned already, but when they were all together on stage, it became pure magic. Thank you so much to all the musicians for such a special experience.
I wasn’t sure how this would be, being a real Beatles fan, but all I can say now is ‘How fantastic was the show!!’ These guys nailed it from the opening song ‘Back in the USSR’. Full tribute to the 4 singers, the band & all those who put this together. Oh, & to the Beatles for releasing such a great album in the first place!
Thanks Heaps
Was at Burswood , Why dont we do it in the road was f_____!!!!!!!!!!! awsome hate to pick one song the whole night was terrific !!!!!!!!! Thanks for bringing back so many memories. Terrific
Cant believe how great, why dont we do it in the road is live !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for an awsome,Fantastic Night every song was terrific Thanks for the memories.
Norm
For some reason I nearly missed even going to this concert, but I’m so glad I went – this was without a doubt the most mind-blowingly awesome concert I’ve seen. The white album has always been my favourite of all the beatles’ albums, so it was a lot to live up to, but all of the performers were just incredible (Chris Cheney stands out for ‘while my guitar gently weeps’, but it’s pretty hard to choose a favourite really as they were all so good), and all their performances were absolutely amazing. Thankyou so much for organising this, especially for doing so with four of the most talented performers in Australia.
Please Please Please release a DVD/Blu ray of this concert! I really want to experience it again!
