Hmmm, 8 songs to learn.
I haven’t had to learn someone else’s songs for quite some time, in fact the reason i started writing songs in the first place was because i was too lazy to learn someone else’s.
Looks like these songs are in standard tuning too, i’ve been playing in “drop D” tuning for years, so i’ll have to get my head around standard tuning again…but surely as a “professional musician” this should be very doable. Fingers crossed!
It’s interesting learning these songs, and noting that they are all so deceptively simple. The arrangements and instrumentation are the elements that make them seem kinda complex, but when you break them all down, they some how just make sense. Maybe it’s the fact that these songs are ingrained on my psyche like multiplication tables, ie you actually know this stuff already, you just have to think about it for a bit.
Looking forward to getting into proper rehearsals. Also very nervous about playing at these amazing venues, but excited none the less.
